About
Since 1999, I have been a member of the faculty at the University of Iowa College of Law. I received my B.A. from Seattle Pacific University in 1988. After working as a writer for Duke University's Capital Campaign for the Arts & Sciences, I enrolled at the University of North Carolina School of Law. I completed my law degree in 1995, then moved to Baltimore, Maryland, to clerk for Judge Francis Murnaghan, Jr., of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. From 1996 to 1999, I was an attorney in the general litigation department of the Perkins Coie law firm in Seattle, Washington. My C.V. contains my contact information.
At Iowa Law, I hold the H. Blair and Joan V. White Chair in Civil Litigation. Mr. White was born in Burlington, Iowa, and helped build Sidley Austin's Chicago office into the powerhouse that it is today. He passed away in 2013 after living a wonderfully successful life both at work and at home.
